Reginald Townsend

Hello! I’m Reginald Townsend, and I have had the privilege of serving you as former Mayor Pro Temp and City Councilman for Ward 1. From 2017 to 2024, I dedicated myself to enhancing the City of Raymore and the greater Kansas City regional community.

I have worked on regional solutions that benefit Raymore and the surrounding communities. I understand the challenges and opportunities we face. During my tenure, I helped shape policies that promoted economic growth, improved infrastructure, and enhanced public safety. My commitment to public service runs deep, and I have taken on numerous leadership roles to continue that passion:

On a personal note, in 2010, my family and I made Raymore our home while I was in the U.S. Marine Corps. Its small-town charm, outstanding schools, and vibrant community spirit captivated us. After retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 with 22 years of military service, we knew Raymore was where we wanted to build our future. I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart for over 30 years. We are proud parents of two wonderful children, Adrien and Olivia, as well as our grand-dog, Harvey Reginald Spector—affectionately known as “Attorney at Paw.” I work as a Financial Management Analyst in the Programs and Resources Department of the United States Marine Corps and proudly serve as a Deacon at New Hope Tabernacle of Faith Church in Raymore.

I am running to bring my experience and leadership back to the City Council, ensuring that Raymore remains a thriving, safe, and welcoming community for all.

Together, we have seen Raymore flourish—businesses are thriving, infrastructure is advancing, and our community is emerging as a premier destination for families and companies. As we look toward the future, my unwavering commitment is to ensure that this growth benefits everyone in Raymore, preserving our city as an exceptional place to live, work, and raise a family.
