Proven leadership, willing service
“How do we ethically protect the social cooperation that makes our society cohesive and strong, while also respecting the rights of individuals to pursue vastly divergent visions of the good life, and deeply conflicting moral and political beliefs?” – Yuval Levin
The past few years have been an emotional roller coaster—like the old wooden kind, with its jerky twists and turns. As a nation, we have faced ongoing debates about election integrity as states revised voting laws in response to the contentious election cycle. Economic uncertainties, including inflation and shifts in the housing market, have tested our family budgets and city resources. Social movements advocating for public safety reform and equitable development have reshaped policy discussions at every level of government.
Locally, we have encountered critical challenges that will define Raymore’s future. One of our greatest victories was successfully preventing the proposed landfill near our city—an effort that united our community like never before. Residents, businesses, and city leaders came together to protect our quality of life, property values, and environmental well-being. Our voices were heard, and our collective persistence paid off, proving what we can achieve when we unite for the good of Raymore.
Issues such as the balance between multi-family housing and single-family lot sizes have sparked important conversations about growth, affordability, and the character of our community. Raymore has been affected by broader economic fluctuations as we navigate the impacts of changing interest rates and housing costs on development and homeownership. These challenges constantly remind me of the fundamental question: “How do we ethically protect the social cooperation that makes our city cohesive and strong?”
I’m proud of the progress we’ve made together. We’ve improved our roads and parks, strengthened public safety, and worked to ensure growth that embraces both tradition and innovation. There is still much we can accomplish, and the path ahead is crucial. Together, let’s continue the progress we’ve made. Join me in illuminating the path to Raymore’s future.
